Gianni Ferretti è nato a Tivoli nel 1962; suona il pianoforte e le tastiere e scrive musica da quando aveva 14 anni. Con i musicisti del suo gruppo ha realizzato due cd a suo nome, pubblicati dalla Lengimusic: "Johnjohn", uscito nel 2003, e "Chapter Two", del 2005. In quest'ultimo ci sono anche delle collaborazioni prestigiose, come il brano scritto ed eseguito insieme a Riccardo Zappa, uno dei più grandi chitarristi italiani di sempre. Gli album di Gianni sono quasi totalmente strumentali, perchè è nella forma musicale che riesce ad esprimersi con maggiore sincerità. Gli piace il confronto continuo con altri suoni e per questo nei suoi brani c'è molto spazio per strumenti che non sono i suoi. I suoi punti di riferimento musicale possono essere A.Vollenweider come J. Zawinul, J.M. Jarre come M. Oldfield, l'importante è che ci sia qualcosa nelle loro note che lo possa emozionare.

Gianni Ferretti was born in Tivoli in 1962. He plays the piano and keyboards and has been writing music since he was 14 years old. Together with the other musicians in his group he has released two albums in his name, published by Lengimusic: “Johnhohn” (2003) and “Chapter Two” (2005). The latter contains some prestigious musical collaborations such as the track written and performed together with Riccardo Zappa, one of the greatest Italian guitarists of all times. Gianni’s albums are almost entirely instrumental because it is the musical form with which he is able to express himself with the greatest sincerity and he loves the continuous confrontation with other sounds. For this reason there is plenty of space in his tracks for instruments that are not his own. His musical references range from A. Vollenweider to J. Zawinul and from J.M. Jarre to M. Oldfield: the important thing is that there is something in their notes that is able to arouse his emotions.
